GULF OF MEXICO - MAY 23, 2021 -The Gulf of Mexico Foundation Education Program Manager, Suraida Nanez-James recently spoke with more than 50 second graders at Mireles Elementary School in Corpus Christi, Texas. James talked with the kids about the importance of maintaining the natural habitat for the endangered Whooping Crane. The event also included the debut of GMF’s Whooping Crane Dance. The foundation will soon launch a new educational curriculum focusing on the Whooping Crane. The curriculum will be available to students and teachers alike.
