David J. McBride is Vice President of Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) for Anadarko Petroleum Company located in The Woodlands, Texas. Anadarko operates globally, with a major focus area being the deepwater Gulf of Mexico. Other areas of operation include Alaska, South America, Indonesia, Africa and China. Mr. McBride has worked closely with the oil and gas industry over the past two decades with a number of independent exploration and production companies in a variety of EHS and legal roles. David possesses an bachelor’s degree in marine biology from Nicholls State University and a law degree from Loyola University in New Orleans. He is active in the American Petroleum Institute and has served as chair of the Subcommittee on Environmental and Health Law. He is a Registered Environmental Manager and completed a fellowship on environmental communication with Loyola University. He has also been chair of Clean Gulf Associates, the nonprofit organization formed to provide spill response capability in the Gulf of Mexico for the oil and gas industry. He lives in The Woodlands, Texas with his wife, Katherine and son, Pierce.
