One of the Gulf of Mexico Foundation’s most innovative approaches to environmental stewardship is the Multicultural Education Program (MEP).

The program brings together students and teachers representing a multitude of cultural and economic backgrounds to address environmental concerns in the Gulf of Mexico.

Recognizing a need to provide educators Gulf-wide with broader teacher training and student engagement, the Foundation is expanding the MEP by providing educators and students with tools, resources and events on a regional level.

Online tools for teachers and students focusing on and the social sciences and Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) will be made available. The program will also incorporate distance learning education, communication and student/teacher exchanges across US Gulf States, Mexico and the Caribbean.
